A man from the Bhalla area of Bhaderwah who was wanted in two NDPS cases registered at Doda and Thathri police stations has been arrested. As per the report, the accused has been at large for the past month.
As per statement given to Chenab Times by Doda police that Surinder Singh son of Hans Raj who is the resident of Chakra Bhatti, Tehsil Bhalla Bhaderwah was apprehended by a police team led by Incharge Police Post PSI Gourav Sharma under the supervision of Insp Arun Sharma SHO Police Station Doda and Jaswant Singh Dy. SP Hqrs Doda after a long and arduous search.
The accused was wanted in cases FIR No. 08/2022, U/S 08/15 NDPS Act. registered at PS Doda and Case FIR No. 22/2022, U/S 08/15 NDPS Act. registered at Police Station Thathri, where poppy straw weighing 9 kg and 3 kg was recovered in both cases, according to police.
The above-mentioned defendant was the major supplier of Poppy Straw, and he had been on the run for nearly a month after the crime was committed.
Under the supervision of Abdul Qayoom JKPS, SSP DODA, the police team made the arrest.
