Taking strong cognizance of the issue regarding poor performance in timely payments being under MGNREGA program, Assistant Commissioner Development Doda Phulail Singh today issues order of withholding the salary of defaulter Panchayat Secretaries working in various blocks across the district.
The order issued by the ACD reads out that timely payment is one of the key indicator to ensure proper implementation of the MGNREGA program in the UT as well as in the district which is being monitored by the higher authorities regularly and even after the repeated warnings twenty four panchayat secretaries have failed to improve the performance in their respective panchayats under timely payment indicator.
In this regard the salary of the erring panchayat secretaries have been withhold with immediate effect, besides the respective BDOs have been directed not to credit salaries in favour of the erring panchayat secretaries till they shall not improve their performance under timely payment indicator on priority basis.
Moreover, the BDO’s have been asked to start proceedings against the second signatories whose performance is dismal due to negligence, through Block Development Chairperson’s under the provisions of J&K Panchayati Raj ACT 1989.
