A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel has died from injuries sustained in a gunshot incident while on duty in Jammu’s Reasi district on Friday.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the CISF personnel, identified as Mohammad Mushtaq, a resident of Mari village in Reasi district, sustained a gunshot wound. He was subsequently taken to the District Hospital Reasi for medical treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The exact circumstances leading to the gunshot wound are currently under investigation, with officials confirming that an inquiry has been initiated into the incident.
The Reasi district, located in the Jammu division of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, has been the site of security operations. The CISF, a central armed police force, plays a significant role in providing security to various government establishments, industrial units, and airports across India.
