On Friday, a three-day snowfest began at the snow-covered Jaie valley Bhaderwah to highlight the beauty of snow-covered meadows and exploit their adventure potential.
The Indian Army’s Rashtriya Rifles unit based in Bhadarwah is organising a three-day festival to assist revitalise the tourism sector, which has been heavily impacted by the crorna outbreak.
The ceremony was started by District Development Council Chairman Doda Dhananter Singh Kotwal, DC Doda Vikas Sharma, CO 4RR Col Rajat Parmar, SSP Abdul Qayoom, and ADC Bhadarwah Dil Mir Chowdhary in a snow-covered Jaie meadow.
Snow games such as skiing, sledding, Zorbing ball, snow trekking, hot air ballooning, horseback riding, snow volleyball, and tug of war were incorporated in this event, as well as cultural activities such as Bhadarwahi Dheku and tribal traditional dances. These sports were first played here in Jaie during the winter months.
Col. Rajat Parmar, speaking on the occasion on Monday, stated that the Indian Army plans to assist in the development of Bhadarwah to the same level as other tourist spots in Jammu and Kashmir. He stated that Bhadarwah’s virgin tourism areas have a big potential for attracting adventure travellers, which he believes should be fully used. He also added this carnival can act as catalyst to revive tourism and to explore various unexplored tourism destinations to provide much wider choices to the tourists.
Vikas Sharma, the District Development Commissioner, stated that tourists in the twenty-first century are looking for fresh experiences, and Bhadarwah would be one of the destinations that will provide them with the authentic experience they seek. “The government has chosen numerous places in Bhadarwah where work to increase tourism will begin, and adventure tourism at high altitude meadows is one among them,” he continued.
Tourists and local residents, including participants, praised the administration for taking this initiative, which will increase winter tourism in Bhadarwah, which is known for its snow-capped mountains. They were all quite enthusiastic about the upcoming snow games.
