“Russia will pay an even steeper price”, says Biden as he levels sanctions on Russia for beginning an invasion of Ukraine

President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that Russia’s actions in Ukraine will result in enormous penalties, a promise he has been making for weeks as Russian President Vladimir Putin bolstered his soldiers along Ukraine’s borders. Biden said the Russian president had committed “a brazen violation of international law” in an address from the White House.

Putin got legislative approval on Tuesday to send Russian troops outside the nation, a move he said was required to legalise the military’s deployment in two rebel-held districts of eastern Ukraine. On Monday, Russia acknowledged those regions as autonomous, and Putin ordered soldiers to “keep peace” in the area.

This, according to Biden, is the beginning of an invasion.

Biden stated, “Russia just proclaimed that it is carving out a large portion of Ukraine.” “In my opinion, he’s laying up a reason to grab additional land by force.” This marks the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.”

As a result, the United States decided to apply sanctions. Biden says Russia “will pay an even steeper price” if aggressions continue.
