Senior National Conference leader and District President of the NC Women’s Wing, Adv Neelofar Masood, expressed her concern about the Delimitation Commission’s extension and said that delay tactics have been used to keep people away from democracy and that such unilateral, illegal acts are adding to the sufferings of people who are facing hardships on all fronts.
According to Adv Neelofar, rather than focusing on ailing development, employment, and tourism, preference is being given to the opening of wine shops in dozens of locations by the government.
It is pertinent to mention that the statement comes after Adv Neelofar Masood convened a meeting in the Binner area of Baramulla. In the interaction, the challenges faced by the people after the abrogation of Article 370 were extensively discussed in the meeting. The significance of education, financial independence, the right to vote, democracy, and the role and participation of women in decision-making were all emphasized.
She said that the manifesto of JKNC includes a detailed blueprint for women’s empowerment and the upliftment of the marginalised class.
The meeting was also addressed by the publicity secretary, Ramanjeet Kour, and many other female delegates of the NC Women’s Wing, Baramulla.
