In a new development, the Taekwondo International Coach and Referee, Atul Pangotra, has been appointed as Referee Official for the World Online Poomsae Championships 2022.
According to a press release, a copy of which lies with The Chenab Times, it is the perfect start of the year for J&K Taekwondo as the top-notch referee from India, Atul Pangotra (International Coach, PET, YSS), who is currently deputed to the J&K Sports Council, has been selected to officiate in the World Taekwondo Online Poomsae Championships.
The appointment has been directly made by the World Taekwondo president, Dr. Chungwon Choe. This historical event is scheduled to be held from March 14th to April 20th, 2022.
This online series of events was introduced by World Taekwondo in 2020 in order to motivate the athletes to stay healthy and in training.
Atul Pangotra, who recently officiated in the Fujairah Open International Olympic ranking event held in Dubai, was also a part of all the online based tournaments organised by World Taekwondo from 2020 and is continuously showing his class in the world of Taekwondo.
The statement further reads, “Our J&K athletes are also taking part in this virtual Taekwondo championship under the banner of the J&K Sport Council and J&K Taekwondo Association.”
Sr. Vice President of JKTA, Dr. S. M. Bali, and the whole J&K Taekwondo Association congratulated Atul Pangotra on this historic appointment to officiate in the above mentioned event.
