The 278-km-long Jammu-Srinagar highway was reopened for traffic on Sunday after remaining closed for few hours due to landslides, triggered by rains.
A traffic police official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that vehicles stranded due to massive landslide at Magarkote area of Ramban were allowed to proceed towards their destinations.
“Jammu-Srinagar national highway has been reopened for one way traffic and stranded vehicles are being cleared,” he said.
He said that adequate men and machinery have been deployed to clear the road.
