Srinagar: Class 6th student qualified Black Belt examination

Abbas Khursheed Wani of Srinagar, studying at Khalsa High School Srinagar in class 6th, has successfully qualified for the Black Belt examination at Jammu.

He started doing Taekwondo when he was 4 years old, under the coaching of Master Atul Pangotra.

As per details available with The Chenab Times, he played his first sub-junior in the year 2017 at the Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex and secured a silver medal for team J & K. In 2018, he represented J&K in the Sub-junior National in Hyderabad.

He was the youngest participant from Kashmir to participate in the 1st Historic European Online Daedo Poomsae Taekwondo Championships 2020 organised by World Taekwondo with the help of his coach, Master Atul Pangotra.

He is a multiple-time state gold medalist and district reigning gold medalist in taekwondo. I recently attended and qualified for the Black Belt examination under the J&K Taekwondo Association. The examiner of the camp was Master Sarbjit Singh (International Referee) of Chandigarh.

He is the youngest ever athlete from the valley to achieve a black belt at such a young age.
Abbass is motivated towards Taekwondo only because of his coach, Atul Pangotra, whom he admires a lot.
