A disturbing video of a lady in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba area mercilessly beating her nine-month-old infant went viral on social media, prompting police to arrest her, PTI reported.
Officials added that netizens asked that the woman be prosecuted for her brutality.
They stated the woman was seen beating, slapping, and dumping the child on a bed in the heartbreaking video, which was reportedly shot by a relative.
When her husband and the village head of Bri Kamila area in Samba district, Mukhtiyar Singh, saw the video, they promptly approached the police and a case was filed.
SSP Samba Abhishek Mahajan said the mother was arrested as a result of this, and that the child had been given over to her husband.
The incident, however, occurred one month ago and was documented on social media and made viral by someone, according to officials.
