Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society and taking stringent action against the drug peddlers, today, under the jurisdiction of police station Mattan, a police party laid a naka at Bumzu crossing and during routine checking, one person carrying a bag was apprehended and upon search, 81 sealed bottles of codeine phosphate were recovered from his possession. The accused was identified as Arif Ahmad Khan S/O Noor-ud-din Khan, R/O Hutmurrah Mattan.

Anantnag police appeal to the general public to cooperate with police by way of sharing inputs related to drug peddling.
