Agnipath Scheme | Bharat Bandh: Even after the Centre offered many incentives, protests against the Agnipath project remained in several regions of the country. With the government standing firm on the disputed ‘Agnipath’ scheme for short-term military recruiting, the three military services released a wide timetable of enrolling under the new policy on Sunday, warning that anyone who engage in violence or arson will not be enrolled.

Amid arrests and protests during the Bharat Bandh, Aam Aadmi Party leader and District Development Council councillor Mehraj Malik has been put under house arrest. The Chenab Times confirmed from the officials that Malik has been put under house arrest for not having proper permission to organise a protest regarding the Agnipath scheme row.
