WhatsApp Head Warned Users Of Using Its Mod, Says “Downloading Mod Version Was Never A Good Idea”

You all know how important WhatsApp is for us in this era, in which there is an online age. In this era, WhatsApp is so important to us that we can send everything from WhatsApp only. Be it payment, be it photos, whatever, we need WhatsApp. Even in this era, there are some people who are making fake versions and cloned apps of Whatsapp. So we need to be very careful. We do not need to download any such apps about which we do not know. Also, do not click on any link that you are unfamiliar with. We should not download WhatsApp from any other website other than the Google Play Store.

An app has been identified outside the Google Play Store, which has been developed by a developer named HeyMods, and the name of this app is Hey WhatsApp.

Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp is currently the world’s largest multimedia messaging app, but the risks are also high, because the more popular something is in this world, the more fake versions there are. Now the head of WhatsApp himself has issued a warning about WhatsApp, and this warning is very intimidating. So you should take it seriously.

What did the head of WhatsApp say?

WhatsApp Head at Meta, Will Cathcart has warned users of using mod versions. He has made several tweets in a thread in which he has reminded to WhatsApp users that it is never a good idea to download a fake or modified version of the app Although these apps appear innocent, they might circumvent WhatsApp’s privacy and security promises. a strand:

He said, “Our security team recently found concealed malware in apps from the developer “HeyMods” that were distributed outside of Google Play, including “Hey WhatsApp” and other apps.”

These apps advertised additional features but were really just a way to steal peoples’ personal data from their phones. In order to fight the fraudulent apps, we collaborated with Google and shared what we found with them.

Now, malicious imitation versions of WhatsApp that were previously downloaded on Android devices can be found and disabled by Google Play Protect. We value Google’s assistance in our ongoing efforts to stop the spread of harmful apps on Android devices.

Naturally, we’ll keep working to find and prevent these kinds of programmes in the future. In order to prevent further harm, we are also taking enforcement action against HeyMods. We will also look into our legal options in order to hold HeyMods and others like them accountable.

The security community is constantly coming up with new strategies to stop the spread of mobile phone malware since it is a dangerous problem that must be dealt with.

Encourage anyone you come across who appears to be using a different version of WhatsApp to only download it from a trusted app store or directly from the WhatsApp website.
