After walking by foot for 35 kilometres in protest against the worst healthcare system in Bhaderwah, social activist Owais Choudhary from Bhaderwah reached the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Doda.
In an interaction with media reporters, Choudhary said, “We did this by-foot journey in protest against the worst healthcare system in Bhaderwah, but we didn’t find the Deputy Commissioner here at DC Doda. However, we were told to submit a memorandum to Addl. Deputy Commissioner Doda.”
He said, “We explained our demands regarding postings of competent doctors and accountability in SDH Bhaderwah while we also demanded an enquiry into the death of a new born child in the same hospital.”
According to CT’s video report, ADC Doda assured them that the matter would be forwarded to the concerned higher authorities and that an enquiry in the case of child death would be initiated at magistrate level.
Meanwhile, Choudhary Owais said that he would organise a similar protest if the demands were not fulfilled as soon as possible.
