The 3rd District Baramulla Taekwondo Championship concludes today at the JKSC Indoor Sports Complex, Khwajabagh, Baramulla.
The Championship was organised by Baramulla Taekwondo Association under the aegis of J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA).
The competition was comprised of all age divisions with the inclusion of the youngest age division (Pee Wee). The final day witnessed a massive combative skills show between the senior and junior athletes in both male and female categories. More than 100 players participated in different weight categories.
The Championship was closed off with the demonstration of Taekwondo fights by young boys and girls from different clubs/institutions. The closing ceremony’s Chief Guest was Adv. Neelofar Masood (Joint Secretary, J&K Taekwondo Association), who was joined as Guest of Honour by Dr Khalid Mehraj (Patron, Baramulla Taekwondo Association).
While speaking on the auspicious occasion, she congratulated all the medalists and participants for taking part in the said championship. She has ensured that only gold medalists will be able to compete in the upcoming UT Taekwondo Championships.She, along with Dr Khalid Mehraj, distributed medals among all the medalists and momentos of honour were given to the coaches also.
On the occasion were Ms. Ramanjeet Kaur, Ms. Farkhanda Khan, Shri Mumtaz Nazir (Joint Secretary,BTA), Mohsin Ali (Coach), and Zain Nazir (International Medalist).
The technical team was led by Danish Manzoor (Indian Team Athlete) along with all the officials to make this event technically fair for every participant.
