Taking strict possible measures to curb the illegal trade of drugs and narcotics including Cannabis, brine sugar & heroine, Doda police in Union Territory Of Jammu and Kashmir has decided to confiscate the properties of drug peddlers and the smugglers involved in the trade.
SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom when contacted told The Chenab Times that with an aim to crack a whip on norco smugglers and people involved in drugs trade, this year Doda Police has registered 37 FIRs in which 42 drug Paddlers had been named and arrested so far added that beside registration of an FIRs, 32 habitual drug Peddlers have been taken under preventive custody so far on the orders of the magistrate.
SSP Doda inform that 3 drug peddlers namely Saddam Hussain alias Sanam Poonchi & Vijay Kumar alias Vijay Pandit both residents of Doda District along with Adil Fareed Son of Fareed Ahmed R/o Runta Bhaderwah were booked under PSA.
“Acting tough against drug peddlers Doda Police is also collecting the details of movable and immovable properties of the drugs Peddlers for confiscation as per the legal provisions of law” said SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom. He said that police is scrutinising the property details of all those drug peddlers involved or booked in Doda District in last five years added that if any illegal properties will be found, same will be demolished.
Doda Police appeal the general public to cooperate the Police and provide inputs so that stringent action could be taken against the drug peddlers and menace of drug is eradicated from the District.
