As a car skidded off the road and fell into the Chenab River in the Doda district on Tuesday, three family members—a couple and their young daughter thought to have drowned.
A car bearing registration number JK 06 A 6311 plunged into the Chenab River early one morning at around 5:20 am on the Doda-Kishtwar route close to Pul Doda, near Stone Crusher Ghat.
According to them, Ababeel NGO team, a Police team and the SDRF water rescue squad Doda arrived at the spot quickly after the accident and immediately began the search and rescue effort. Although the car has been located in the river, the bodies has not yet been found, according to them.
Additionally, they added, there is suspicion that three persons were in the car, including Sengoi Bhaderwah residents Manjeet Singh, his wife Sonia Devi, and their 6-year-old daughter. More information is awaited.
