Shutdown begins across Chenab Valley over Rajouri attack

A bandh (shutdown) was observed in the Doda and Kishtwar districts of Chenab Valley in protest of the recent terror incident in Rajouri. All markets in the towns of Doda, Bhaderwah, Thathri, and Kishtwar were closed in support of the bandh.

The bandh was called by the Seerat Committee Doda, Beopar Mandals of Thathri, Bhaderwah, Sanatan Dharma Sabha and was supported by various other organizations, including political parties and civil society groups, according to reports reached The Chenab Times. The protesters demanded that the government take strong action against those responsible for the terror attack and ensure the safety and security of the people in the region.

The bandh received widespread support from the local community, with many residents participating in the shutdown and expressing their solidarity with the cause.

The Rajouri terror incident, which occurred on January 1st and 2nd, left six including two minors dead and various others injured.
