In response to recent terrorist attacks in the Rajouri area that resulted in the killing of six civilians, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will send an additional 18 companies to Jammu and Kashmir. To step up anti-terror operations in the area, the additional 1,800 troops will primarily be stationed in Poonch and Rajouri districts. According to people with knowledge of the situation, nine companies have already arrived in Rajouri and the remaining forces will do so by tonight.
According to the people cited above, the security forces will carry out anti-terrorism operations south of the Pir Panjal Range.
The move was taken a few days after terror attacks killed six civilians, including a four-year-old child, in Dhangri, a Hindu-dominated village in the Rajouri district. On Sunday, according to a report on The Chenab Times, two unidentified men opened fire on them, killing Shiv Pal, 32, Deepak Kumar, 23, Satish Kumar, 45, Pritam Pal, 56, and Pritam Kumar. A day after the shooting, an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded nearby, killing Vihan Sharma, 4, and Samiksha Sharma, 16.
The IED was allegedly put by terrorists on Sunday, but police failed to find it during their search, according to residents who accused police of negligence.
Manoj Sinha, the lieutenant governor, paid a visit to Dhangri on Monday. He offered 10 lakh rupees in compensation and jobs to the families of the deceased, as well as 1 lakh rupees to each of the 15 victims of the attacks.
On January 3, 2021, a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir left several people dead and injured. In response to the attack, LG Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, made the following statement quoted on HT: “This is a very painful and unfortunate incident. It is the Centre’s and J&K government’s resolve to wipe out terrorism. Though deaths cannot be compensated, I assure every possible help to the families of those killed. We have given full freedom to the security forces and I want to assure the people that the perpetrators of this attack will be punished soon.”
In this statement, LG Manoj Sinha expresses his condolences for the victims of the terror attack and reaffirms the commitment of both the central government and the Jammu and Kashmir government to combat terrorism. He also offers assistance to the families of those killed in the attack and assures the people that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
