The Chenab Times has been a pioneer in promoting lesser-known languages and cultures of the Chenab region of Jammu and Kashmir. Our aim has been to bring these languages into the mainstream and to provide a platform for their speakers to express their views and opinions. The Multilingual News Initiative is a volunteer project started by The Chenab Times in January 2021, and has been an incredible success since its inception.
The Gojri language is spoken by over 3 million people in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and other parts of India. It is a significant language that deserves to be recognized and celebrated. The Chenab Times, through the Multilingual News Initiative, aims to provide news in Gojri language daily. The news will be published as Gojri Khabarnama in the morning, and will include all the latest news and events happening in the region.
All the news published under the Multilingual News Initiative is available as videos called “Daily Headlines“. The videos are published on The Chenab Times website (url: https://videos.thechenabtimes.com) and can be accessed from anywhere in the world. The videos are also shared on our social media platforms, making it easier for people to stay up to date with the latest news from the Chenab region.
The Chenab Times is committed to promoting linguistic and cultural diversity in the region. We believe that language is an essential part of one’s identity and should be celebrated. The Multilingual News Initiative is a testament to our commitment to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and we are proud to bring news in Gojri language under this initiative. We hope that this will pave the way for other lesser-known languages to be recognized and celebrated, and we look forward to continuing our efforts in this direction.
