In a successful operation, security forces have busted a suspicious hideout in the Lower Kasbalari area of Mendhar in Poonch district. A joint team comprising the army and police made the discovery on Thursday, leading to the subsequent destruction of a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) and other explosive materials.
According to a police officer, the joint team conducted thorough searches in the area, aided by an army sniffer dog. The trained canine successfully detected the presence of a suspicious IED and additional explosive substances within the hideout. Following standard protocol, the Bomb Disposal squad was immediately summoned to the scene.
With the utmost caution and expertise, the Bomb Disposal squad safely neutralized and destroyed the suspected IED and other explosives, averting any potential threat they posed. The entire operation took place in the presence of the Village Sarpanch and Numberdar, ensuring transparency and community involvement.
