Habitual Drug Peddler Booked under PSA (PITNDPS) in Doda, Poses Serious Threat to Youth

The Doda Police have taken decisive action against a notorious drug peddler, Amjad Ali, son of Mubark Ali Shah, resident of Sadeeqabad, Tehsil & District Doda. Mr. Ali has been booked under the provisions of the Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1988 (PITNDPS) and subsequently lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah. This action comes as a result of his repeated involvement in drug peddling, which posed a significant threat to the youth in and around Doda City.

Mr. Ali has been a well-known figure in the drug trade, with numerous FIRs registered against him in Police Stations of District Doda and District Ramban under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. He has been actively engaged in the possession and transportation of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. Due to his status as a habitual offender, his continued criminal activities were considered a grave concern for the community, particularly the youth.

Doda Police has taken a tough stance against drug peddlers this year, registering a significant number of FIRs against notorious drug peddlers and cultivators of opium, specifically Poppy plants. As part of these efforts, four habitual drug peddlers, including three notorious individuals previously detained under the PSA, have been held in custody. Moreover, a large number of drug peddlers have been taken into preventive custody and lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah.
