Shopian Teen, Blinded by Pellets in 2016, Excels in Class 12 Exams

In a remarkable achievement, 18-year-old Insha Mushtaq, who lost her vision due to pellet injuries sustained in 2016, has successfully cleared her class 12th board examinations with outstanding results. The examination results were recently announced, showcasing Insha’s exceptional performance.

Hailing from Sedow village in Shopian, Insha Mushtaq, daughter of Mushtaq Lone, has secured an impressive score of 319 marks in the examination. Initially feeling disappointed, Insha later found solace when her family members informed her that her marks surpassed those achieved by many students with full eyesight.

Reflecting on her journey, Insha expressed her determination to overcome the challenges she has faced since 2016, emphasizing her pursuit of a successful life. When asked about her future aspirations, she shared her desire to pursue a Bachelor’s degree and ultimately prepare for the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) examination, aspiring to become an IAS officer.

Insha further highlighted the pressing need for separate educational institutions in Kashmir dedicated to individuals with disabilities who have been enduring hardship due to their absence. She stressed the importance of inclusive education and equal opportunities for all specially-abled individuals in the region.
