A tragic accident occurred in the Ujroo area of Qazigund, resulting in the death of a truck driver after two vehicles collided head-on. The incident took place on Saturday, according to an official statement.
The collision involved a truck traveling from Jammu towards Srinagar and another vehicle, near the Navyuga Toll crossing. The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the tragic demise of the truck driver. The driver has been identified as Trilochan Singh, son of Himmat Singh, hailing from RS Pura, Jammu.
The official further informed that Trilochan Singh lost his life on the spot due to the severity of the accident. Prompt action was taken by the authorities, and the body of the deceased has been transferred to the emergency hospital in Qazigund for necessary medical formalities.
Authorities have also taken cognizance of the accident, and local law enforcement agencies are investigating the incident to ascertain the circumstances that led to the collision. Details regarding the other vehicle and any possible injuries sustained by its occupants have not been disclosed at this time.
