Govt Degree College Chatroo Organizes Yoga Competition to Promote Awareness Among Students

As part of the ongoing Yoga Mahotsav celebration, the NSS unit and the Department of Sports at Govt Degree College Chatroo on Monday organized an inter-semester poster making competition and yoga asana competition. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Ved Kumar, the esteemed Principal of the college, aimed to create awareness about the importance of yoga among the students.

The competition witnessed an impressive participation of approximately 50 students from the 2nd, 4th, and 6th semesters. The students showcased their enthusiasm and zeal as they actively took part in the event. The winners of the competition will be felicitated with certificates and medals on the occasion of International Yoga Day, which will further encourage their dedication to this ancient practice.

During his address, Dr. Ved Kumar, the Principal of the college, commended the efforts of Dr. Jaswant Singh, the physical instructor of the college, for taking the initiative to organize such a beneficial competition. Dr. Kumar also urged the students to incorporate the habit of practicing yoga into their daily routines, emphasizing its numerous health benefits and positive impact on overall well-being.

The events were efficiently managed by Dr. Jaswant Singh, who ensured the smooth flow of the competition. Additionally, Prof. Waseem Rasheed, Dr. Mudassir Nazar, and Prof. Chander Parkash contributed as scorers of the competition, impartially evaluating the participants’ performances.

The organizing committee expressed their gratitude to Prof. Dr. Ved Kumar, whose guidance and support played a crucial role in the successful execution of the competition. It is through such initiatives that the college aims to create a culture of yoga and promote a healthy lifestyle among its students.
