The 9th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor at the picturesque Jae Valley in Bhaderwah. The event, organized by the district administration in collaboration with various departments and stakeholders, aimed to promote brotherhood, harmony, healthy living, and a drug-free society under the theme ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.’
Over four thousand (4000) locals and tourists gathered at the valley in the morning to participate in yoga and meditation sessions guided by Yogi Anil and a young yoga participant named Diva. The serene and scenic surroundings of the valley provided the perfect setting for the participants to connect with nature and rejuvenate their minds and bodies.
In addition to the yoga sessions, a colorful cultural program organized by JKAACL Sub Office Doda entertained the audience. Tourists also had the opportunity to enjoy local traditional games in the forest-covered Jae Valley, promoting the region’s cultural heritage. Renowned artist KK Gandhi captured the beauty of Jae in a painting, showcasing the valley’s scenic charm.
The event attracted people from various walks of life, including District Development Councillors, BDC Chairpersons, PRIs, businessmen, Bollywood celebrities, officers, army personnel, players, and both local and non-local tourists. The cultural and sports activities were organized under the banner of Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan, Fit India Campaign, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The successful program was managed by ADC Doda Chowdhary Dil Mir, along with officers from the AYUSH, Youth Services and Sports, JKAACL, Information, Excise, and Social Welfare departments. The celebration of the International Day of Yoga 2023 at Jae Valley aimed to promote sustainable tourism and healthy living while showcasing the natural beauty of the region. The organizers hoped to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga and encourage people to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.
DC Doda Vishesh Mahajan expressed his satisfaction with the event, stating that the International Yoga Day celebration at Jae Valley in Bhaderwah was a great success. He expressed hope that this event would inspire more similar initiatives in the region, further promoting eco-tourism and healthy living.
The Mega event at Jae Valley saw the participation of several prominent figures, including SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, BDC Chairperson Omi Chand, BDC Chairperson Novsheena Begum, DDC Councillor Thakur Yudhvir, ADC Doda Dr. R K Bharti, CO CRPF Harish Mehra, and other district and sectoral officers.
