In a devastating incident triggered by heavy rainfall, a Manpreet Bus bearing registration number JK02B 8287, en route from Gowari to Gandoh, became trapped in debris caused by a landslide in the Shallala area of Doda district, as per The Chenab Times correspondent. The unfortunate event occurred as the bus encountered the aftermath of torrential rains that had recently battered the region. The landslide led to four individuals being buried under the rubble, sparking a frantic rescue effort by locals.
The prompt response from the locals and police proved crucial in saving the lives of two passengers, who managed to be pulled out from the debris alive. However, the driver and conductor of the ill-fated bus, identified as Mudessar Ahmed, son of Nisar Ah Qazi, hailing from Neeli village in Gandoh tehsil, and Amir, son of Ab Qayoom from Kahara village, were critically injured in the incident. Despite the valiant efforts to rescue them, both succumbed to their injuries while receiving medical treatment at a nearby hospital.
