In a devastating incident that occurred in the Kuchaal Simbol block area of Kishtwar, two lives were tragically lost when a JCB (construction equipment) fell victim to a sudden landslide. The unfortunate incident took place during ongoing construction work, leading to the demise of the JCB operator and a worker.
According to an official statement provided to The Chenab Times, the landslide occurred unexpectedly, causing the JCB to plummet into a gorge. The deceased have been identified as Abid Hussain, son of Noor Husain, and Musharraf, son of Mohd Akbar, both residents of Kuchal.
The incident resulted in the immediate death of Abid Hussain at the site, while Musharraf sustained critical injuries. He was immediately rushed to the District Hospital Kishtwar for medical attention. However, Musharraf succumbed to his injuries during the transfer to the hospital.
Medical authorities at the District Hospital Kishtwar confirmed that both Abid Hussain and Musharraf were declared brought dead on arrival.
