A devastating road accident occurred near the Paninalla hamlet, merely 1 km away from Thathri town towards Kishtwar, resulting in the loss of a young life and leaving another individual severely injured. The accident involved a motorbike, bearing registration number JK02AN 0279, colliding with a dumper vehicle.
According to The Chenab Times sources, the deceased has been identified as Mohd Ashraf Sheikh, a 24-year-old male, son of Bashir Ahmed Sheikh, and a resident of Paninalla, Drabshalla. Tragically, Mohd Ashraf lost his life on the spot due to the impact of the collision. The young man was employed at Megha Company in Drabshalla and was on his way when the tragic accident occurred.
On the same motorbike was the injured pillion rider, identified as Kifatullah, a 25-year-old male and son of Mohd Hanif Sheikh, who also resides in Paninalla, Drabshalla. He suffered significant injuries as a result of the accident and was promptly rushed to CHC Thathri for immediate medical attention. After initial treatment, Kifatullah was referred to the Government Medical College (GMC) in Doda for further specialized care.
The incident took place around 2:40 PM today, prompting locals and police to rush the spot. The body of Mohd Ashraf Sheikh has been taken to CHC Thathri for medicolegal formalities.
