The departure of Sub Divisional Magistrate Athar Amin Zargar from Thathri was met with an outpouring of appreciation and warm wishes from the civil society, public representatives, school students, and various government officials. The esteemed SDM, who is all set to pursue his Masters in Public Administration in Singapore, was bid adieu in a grand farewell ceremony held at the heart of the town.
Athar Amin Zargar’s journey in Thathri has been marked by dedication, competence, and an unwavering commitment to public service. In 2020, he assumed the role of Sub Divisional Magistrate, following a promotion from his previous position as Block Development Officer. His tenure as SDM has left an indelible mark on the community, as he diligently worked towards the welfare and development of the region.
Speaking on behalf of the entire Municipal Committee of Thathri, President Mansoor Ahmed lauded Athar Amin Zargar’s exceptional leadership and tireless efforts. “During his tenure, SDM Zargar exhibited exceptional administrative skills and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the people. He actively engaged with various stakeholders, consistently seeking solutions for the betterment of Thathri. We are grateful for his contributions and wish him all the best as he embarks on this new educational journey.”
Councillor Asgar Khanday expressed similar sentiments, highlighting Athar’s remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life. “SDM Zargar was not just an efficient administrator but also a compassionate individual who always lent a listening ear to the concerns of the public. His approachable nature and passion for public service have won him the hearts of many. We will certainly miss his presence in Thathri, but we are confident that he will shine in his academic pursuits and continue to make us proud.”
The farewell ceremony was attended by a large number of school students who held Athar Amin Zargar in high regard for his support and encouragement towards their education. These young minds, adorned with garlands, formed a procession near their respective schools to bid farewell to their beloved SDM, expressing their gratitude and admiration.
Adding to the chorus of appreciation were revenue officials and other government authorities, who acknowledged Athar’s exceptional administrative skills and his ability to handle complex issues with tact and efficiency.
