In a commendable display of efficiency, the Doda Police successfully apprehended a thief and swiftly recovered stolen government property within days from the Assar area of Doda District. This achievement was announced in an official statement released by the Doda Police department.
The operation was launched in response to a complaint regarding the theft of crash barriers from Ragginallah in the Marsoo area of Assar along NHW-244. Following the lodging of a complaint, an FIR (First Information Report) under the relevant sections was promptly registered at the Police Station Assar. The law enforcement machinery was set into motion, led by Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Satnam Singh and his team from the Police Station Assar.
The investigation gained momentum as the police activated their sources to establish leads that could lead them to the perpetrators. During the course of the inquiry, one individual was identified as a prime suspect: Nayamtullah, also known as Mudassar, the son of Bashir Ahmed and a resident of Gurmul Kastigarh with an address in Bagerni Doda. Acting on this lead, Nayamtullah was taken into custody.
Under rigorous questioning, Nayamtullah confessed his involvement in the theft of government property. This confession led to a breakthrough in the case, as he divulged the location where the stolen crash barriers had been concealed. It was revealed that Nayamtullah and an accomplice, who is currently evading authorities, had stashed the stolen items in the Marsoo area of Assar.
The stolen property, including the crash barriers, was subsequently recovered. The police also managed to seize a vehicle, a “Jonga,” bearing the registration number JK06_8606, which was allegedly used by the thieves to transport the stolen crash barriers. In addition, a collection of wrenches, suspected to have been utilized to tamper with the nuts and bolts of the crash barriers, was confiscated by the authorities.
While Nayamtullah’s associate remains at large, the ongoing investigation is expected to yield further information and recoveries related to the case. The Doda Police’s swift and effective response to the complaint underscores their dedication to maintaining law and order, as well as their commitment to safeguarding government property.
