Mostly Minors Among 23 Injured as Matadoor Overturns near Garsu Pul Doda

A minibus, bearing the registration number JK06 1406, was involved in a serious accident near the Garsu area of Pul Doda in the Doda district today. The incident resulted in numerous injuries, and the injured individuals have been promptly transported to the Government Medical College & Associated Hospital in Doda for medical care.

One observant government employee, en route to his office in Doda, contacted The Chenab Times moments before the accident occurred. He expressed concern over the minibus’s excessive speed, shouting “It overturned, It overturned” just seconds before the tragic event unfolded.

Sunil Sharma, a passenger on the Matadoor, disclosed that the minibus did not carry any passengers from Thathri to Prem Nagar. Passengers boarded exclusively at Prem Nagar, raising questions of overloading. Sharma clarified that while all seats were occupied, only two passengers were standing during the journey. Regrettably, despite passengers’ repeated warnings, the driver continued to disregard speed limits.
