In a concerning incident earlier today, two young motorcycle riders sustained injuries in a head-on collision with a vehicle in the Dungas area of Poonch district. The mishap took place near Dak Bungalow Poonch, resulting in immediate medical attention for the injured parties.
Official sources have reported that the collision transpired between an Alto car bearing registration number JK02BL-2849 and a motorcycle with the registration number JK02BV-6851, according to a video of same accident which is viral on social media as reported on The Chenab Times WebTV. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving two youths injured and in need of medical assistance. Both victims have been identified as Shahzad Shabir (19), son of Mohd Shabir, a resident of Kuniyan, and Mohd Shabir (24), son of Wazir Hussain, a resident of Qazi Mohra in Poonch.
According to Dr. Zulfiqar, the Medical Superintendent at the District Hospital, Poonch, the condition of both injured individuals is currently stable. However, in response to a request from the families of the victims, one of the injured youths may be transferred for advanced medical treatment. The medical team is closely monitoring their progress.
The police have taken cognizance of the incident and a FIR under relevant sections under law has been registered. The investigation into the collision is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances that led to the accident.
