District Administration Kishtwar Reviews Arrangements for Navratri, Ramnavmi, and Dussehra Festival

Kishtwar: In an effort to ensure the smooth and safe celebration of upcoming festivals, the District Administration Kishtwar, under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (In Charge) Kishtwar, Sham Lal JKAS, convened a crucial meeting with various line departments. The meeting, held at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex in Kishtwar, saw the participation of key officials and representatives of religious organizations.

Present at the meeting were ADC Kishtwar Inderjeet Singh Parihar, ACR Kishtwar Varunjeet Singh Charak, CEO Kishtwar Development Authority Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma, Addl. SP (I/C) Kishtwar N S Parihar, Tehsildar Kishtwar Muneeb Umar, Tehsildar Hqrs Chander Shekhar, Dy SP Hqrs Davinder Singh, senior officers, and representatives from various departments including PHE, PDD, MC, FCS&CA Kishtwar.

The representatives of Sanatan Dharm Sabha and Adarsh Dramatic Club Kishtwar actively engaged in discussions and provided invaluable suggestions on a range of critical matters. These discussions covered sanitation, uninterrupted electricity supply, regular and safe drinking water, security arrangements, traffic management, temple decoration, adequate ration and firewood stocks, as well as checking rates and food quality.

District Development Commissioner Sham Lal JKAS underscored the significance of cleanliness, hygiene, and proper illumination at festive venues, especially around the temples. He directed the concerned departments to prioritize the message of sanitation during the festivals.

Furthermore, the police authorities were urged to implement robust security arrangements at temples and conduct essential night checks to ensure the safety of devotees and visitors.

The need for interdepartmental coordination was emphasized to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place well in advance of the festivals.

The PHE and PDD Departments were instructed to take all measures to guarantee uninterrupted water and power supply. Additionally, the PDD was tasked with ensuring proper lighting arrangements and a generator set at the Ram Leela venue.

The Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs authorities received directives to ensure an adequate supply of ration and LPG cylinders during the festival period. Together with Tehsildar Kishtwar, they were entrusted with monitoring food item rates and quality through regular market checks.

The Health Department was directed to maintain sufficient provisions for medical facilities and medical staff to address any healthcare needs during the festivities.

The meeting also discussed other essential arrangements, including traffic management for festive processions, stage setups, barricading at Chowgan Ground during Dussehra, and various safety measures. Necessary instructions were provided to the relevant authorities to ensure a foolproof execution of these plans.
