Poonch: Tragedy struck the Line of Control (LoC) in the Mankote Sector of Poonch district today as Sepoy (Agniveer) Amritpal Singh lost his life due to bullet injuries. The incident occurred while he was diligently performing sentry duty along the LoC.
At the time of the incident, Sepoy Amritpal Singh was stationed near the LoC in the Mankote area of Mendhar sub-division in Poonch district. Regrettably, he succumbed to his injuries on the spot, leaving his comrades and superiors in shock and grief.
Authorities swiftly responded to the situation, with a police party arriving at the scene to conduct necessary legal procedures. Subsequently, the fallen soldier’s body was transported to a local hospital for a postmortem examination.
Quoting officials news agency GNS reported that while confirming the incident, officials have indicated that the cause of the shooting is currently under investigation. They are actively working to determine whether the incident resulted from accidental fire, suicide, or any other reason. The investigation will seek to provide clarity on the circumstances surrounding this tragic loss of a dedicated Agniveer soldier.
