Throat-Slit Bodies of Couple Found Inside Their Home in Rajouri

Jammu – In a deeply distressing incident, the lifeless bodies of a couple, identified as Mohammad Azam and Gulzar Begum, were discovered in their residence in Bagla village, located in the Kandi area of Rajouri district. The gruesome discovery was made on Tuesday, according to officials.

Upon receiving information about the tragic incident, a team comprising local law enforcement and security forces swiftly arrived at the scene. The bodies of the deceased couple were taken into custody for necessary medico-legal procedures.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter, with an official confirming that a case has been registered, according to news agency GNS. The police are diligently working on this case, aiming to uncover the circumstances surrounding this heinous crime.

When asked about a possible connection to militancy, the official refrained from drawing any definitive conclusions. He stated, “Everything will be unravelled during investigations,” emphasizing that further inquiries are currently in progress.

Dr. Haseeb Mughal, the DIG of the Rajouri-Poonch Range, expressed his deep concern over the incident, describing it as a brutal murder and an inhumane act. He added that the police team remains on-site, actively conducting investigations, and at this juncture, they are not ruling out any possibilities, including the potential involvement of terrorism.
