Doda Police Arrest Two Online Fraudsters from Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh

Doda – In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Doda district have apprehended two individuals involved in a series of online fraud cases. The suspects, identified as Adesh Singh and Vishal Partap Singh, residents of Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh, were arrested in connection with a case filed under FIR No. 60/2020 U/S 420 IPC at the Thathri Police Station.

The investigation revealed that the case originated from a complaint filed by Mr. Sanjay Kumar, a wholesale supplier in Thathri, Kishtwar district. Mr. Kumar alleged that he had been duped by one “Ajay Nagesh Joshi,” who claimed to work with Indices Sucrose Ltd., a company purportedly based in Hoshi Pura, Punjab, engaged in sugar supply. The fraudster convinced Mr. Kumar to order 10 tons of sugar for his business, and a bill for Rs. 3,25000 was subsequently issued, along with an account number for payment.

Following these transactions, Mr. Kumar received another call, ostensibly from the fraudster, claiming that the sugar delivery vehicle had broken down near Udhampur due to mechanical issues. He was then coerced into sending an additional Rs. 5000 to the vehicle driver, Raju, to facilitate repairs. It was at this point that Mr. Kumar sensed foul play and insisted the fraudster reciprocate by sending the money. The fraudster declined, revealing the fraudulent nature of the scheme.

The Thathri Police initiated a comprehensive investigation into the matter, uncovering the fraudulent activities of the accused individuals. Subsequently, a charge sheet was filed against Adesh Singh and Vishal Partap Singh. Non-bailable warrants were issued against them by the Hon’ble Court.

A dedicated police team from the Thathri Police Station, with the assistance of the Uttar Pradesh Police, tracked down and arrested the fraudsters in Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh. They were subsequently produced in court and remanded to District Jail Bhaderwah.

It is essential to note that Adesh Singh and Vishal Partap Singh are alleged to be involved in multiple phishing cases registered against them in various states, including Delhi, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh. They are considered notorious inter-state fraudsters.
