Persistent Power Outages Disrupt Daily Routines in Kashmir: Mohammad Altaf Dar

Srinagar – In a statement released today, prominent socio-political activist and senior trade union leader, Mohammad Altaf Dar of Rajbagh, has raised concerns over the ongoing and persistent power outages in the Kashmir province. Mr. Dar highlights the severe disruptions caused by these outages and expresses his disappointment with the Jal Shakti Department and Power Development Department for their lack of concern and empathy towards the local population.

Mr. Dar points out that frequent load shedding has serious consequences for the residents of the region, affecting both their business activities and daily household chores. Furthermore, he underscores the adverse impact of power outages during school hours, which significantly hampers children’s learning, making it impossible for them to carry on with their academic activities.

The dire situation also extends to patients requiring critical care, as hospitals struggle to provide adequate treatment without a stable supply of electricity. This ongoing electricity crisis in the region has been detrimental to the overall progress and well-being of the local population.

Mr. Dar urges the central government and the LG Administration to intervene promptly and direct the concerned departments to resolve this crisis. He emphasizes the need for decisive action against negligent officials who have contributed to the worsening power situation.

In his statement, the socio-political activist and trade union leader implores the authorities to prioritize the restoration of electricity and provide residents with basic facilities. He firmly believes that it is the government’s responsibility to ensure that citizens can lead their lives without the constant disruption caused by load shedding.

As the persistent power outages continue to disrupt daily life in Kashmir, it remains to be seen how the authorities will respond to Mr. Dar’s impassioned call for action and resolution of this critical issue.
