Jammu – In the latest development from the ongoing encounter in the Kalakote area of Rajouri district, two additional soldiers have tragically succumbed to their injuries, bringing the total casualty count to three, which includes a Captain, according to officials.
News agency GNS quoting official sources reported that the two soldiers were among the three initially injured during the exchange of gunfire. Despite efforts to provide medical care, they could not overcome their injuries and succumbed while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
As reported earlier, the encounter commenced in the Baji area of Kalakot in Rajouri district between militants and security forces. The firefight has persisted with intermittent exchanges of gunfire.
