The Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Soura has officially declared winter vacation for its faculty members, scheduled to take place in two phases starting from January 01 next year.
According to the official order, the winter vacation for SKIMS faculty staff will be divided into two periods: January 01 to 28 (1st half) and February 01 to 28 (2nd half).
The directive instructs department heads to provide a list of faculty members interested in availing either the 1st or 2nd half of the vacation. Notably, the order emphasizes that 50% of the faculty staff should be available in the department during both halves. Heads of departments are tasked with ensuring the presence of at least one senior faculty member in the department for each half of the vacation, whenever possible. The provided roster from the Heads of Departments will be final, and no changes will be entertained once received.
The order outlines the administration’s authority to recall any faculty member during the vacation period in case of emergencies. Furthermore, it stresses that vacation rosters will only be accepted if the residential addresses and contact numbers of faculty members are accurately recorded.
“No faculty member on duty will be permitted to avail any leave for attending conference/Seminar/Workshop entailing station permission,” it read.
Additionally, the roster must explicitly state whether station leaving permission is required or not. It strictly prohibits faculty members on duty from availing leave to attend conferences, seminars, or workshops that involve station permission.
