In a continuing effort to crack down on illegal liquor trade, Kishtwar Police today arrested a man and seized 27 bottles of illicit JK Special Whiskey.
According to a statement, police team from Kishtwar police station, led by Station House Officer Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday, apprehended the suspect during a routine patrol and naka checking.
The individual, identified as Affar Hussain, son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Malipath, Kishtwar, was found carrying the contraband liquor during the stop and search.
Following the seizure, a case (FIR No. 21/2024) under Section 48(a) of the Excise Act has been registered at Kishtwar police station, and an investigation is underway.
