In a significant breakthrough in its ongoing special drive against the illegal sale and manufacture of illicit liquor, the J&K Police today apprehended a bootlegger in the Haneja area of Thathri in Doda district.
According to a press release issued to The Chenab Times by the police, the individual, identified as Madan Lal, son of Khushi Ram, a resident of Mandrana Mahalla, Doda, was caught with a considerable quantity of illicit liquor. The arrest was made during a targeted operation aimed at curbing the menace of illegal liquor trade in the region.
A case has been registered against Madan Lal under FIR No. 37/2024, invoking relevant sections of the Excise Act. The police have initiated a thorough investigation to uncover further details and possibly identify any networks involved in the illicit trade.
