A young man from Kishtwar sustained injuries in a car accident on the Udhampur-Jammu highway on Friday. The incident occurred near the FCI cut point around 12:55 PM.
According to The Chenab Times‘ sources, a truck with registration number JK 02Y/0566, driven by Bodh, son of Prabh Dayal, a resident of Jhajjar Kotli, Tehsil Dansal, District Jammu, was traveling from Udhampur towards Jammu. The truck was reportedly being driven in a rash and negligent manner.
As the truck approached the FCI cut point, the driver lost control of the vehicle, colliding with a car bearing registration number JK 17A/7039. The car was driven by Mohd. Nayyer, son of Abdul Kalam, a youth from Drabshalla, Tehsil Drabshalla, District Kishtwar, who was also traveling in the same direction.
The accident resulted in injuries to Mohd. Nayyer, who was promptly attended to by emergency services at the scene. The extent of his injuries has not been disclosed at this time.
Local authorities arrived quickly to manage the situation and are currently investigating the circumstances leading to the collision. Initial reports suggest that the truck driver’s excessive speed and lack of control were significant factors in the accident.
