Two Dead, 27 Injured in Minibus Accident in Chenab Valley’s Gandoh

A Matador (minibus) bearing registration number JK06B 0469 met with an accident, resulting in two fatalities and 27 injuries in the Bhatyas area of Gandoh in Doda district on Saturday. The incident occurred in the scenic but treacherous terrains of the Chenab Valley, raising concerns about road safety in the region.

The accident claimed the lives of Bashira Begum (50), wife of Mussa from Chakroon, and Saleema Begum (55), wife of Sadar Din from Kahara. Both women succumbed to their injuries before medical help could reach them.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest that the minibus may have lost control on the winding and narrow roads of the region. The injured have been rushed to nearby hospitals, with several in critical condition.
