In a tragic incident, two young men lost their lives in a road accident near Khellani Nallah in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. The accident involved a Scorpio vehicle, bearing registration number JK21G 7500, which reportedly veered off the road, leading to a fatal crash.
The deceased have been identified as Mukesh Kumar, aged 29, and Pawan Kumar, aged 24, both sons of the late Lal Chand. Residents of Brartha Khellani in Doda, the brothers were traveling together at the time of the accident, sources told The Chenab Times. Sources indicate that at least one of them was employed with the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), though it remains unconfirmed whether both were NHIDCL employees.
Following the accident, the bodies of both brothers were transported to Government Medical College (GMC) Doda, where medico-legal formalities are being carried out.
Local NGO Ababeel and eyewitnesses reported that the accident led to the immediate death of both brothers at the scene. Details of the accident’s cause remain under investigation, though preliminary reports suggest the vehicle may have lost control near the Nallah.
Further investigations are underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the accident.
