The incident occurred in the early hours of November 1, after the husband, reportedly intoxicated, returned home and became embroiled in a heated argument with his wife, according to authorities.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (North), Raja Banthia, reported that the 40-year-old victim, who works as a helper at a paying guest accommodation, had returned home under the influence of alcohol, which led to a verbal dispute with his wife. The accused woman is reportedly absconding, and police efforts to locate her are ongoing. Authorities are conducting further investigation to understand the full circumstances surrounding the assault.
