A devastating fire broke out late tonight at the home of Khursheed Ahmed, located in the Jashar hamlet of Badhat in tehsil Drabshalla of Kishtwar district, claiming the lives of his wife and two young children. The incident has left the community in shock as neighbors and authorities attempt to come to terms with the tragic loss.
The blaze, which reportedly started in one of the rooms, trapped three family members inside. Khursheed Ahmed’s wife, Nazia Begum, along with their daughter, seven-year-old Amna Banoo, and their four-year-old son, Rizwan, were unable to escape the flames, sources told The Chenab Times. Locals and emergency responders arrived promptly, but the fire had already taken its toll, leaving the family and the entire neighborhood in mourning.
“This is a tragedy that none of us can comprehend,” said Sohail Mushtaq Naik, a relative, visibly shaken. “Our family has lost three beautiful souls.”
Local authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Initial findings have not yet been released, but officials are working to piece together the events that led to this tragic incident. The fire, which was severe enough to consume the room and leave the occupants with no chance of escape, raises concerns regarding fire safety in residential areas.
