Doda, November 20 – One person was killed, and eight others sustained injuries after an Eeco vehicle bearing registration number JK06A-9929 plunged off the road onto an under-construction building in the Assar area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Wednesday evening, officials said.
A police official told The Chenab Times that the incident occurred near Kutiyara, Jathi Assar, when the vehicle lost control and veered off the road. The deceased has been identified as Davinder Kumar, son of Diman Chand, a resident of Jattas, who was declared dead upon arrival at the Community Health Centre (CHC) Assar.
The injured have been identified as Suresh Kumar, son of Pyar Singh, and Kamaljeet Kumar, also son of Pyar Singh, both residents of Firni; Shano Devi, wife of Om Prakash, Om Prakash, son of Baldev Raj, Rohit Kumar, son of Om Prakash, Bihari Lal, son of Hari Chand, and Sanjeev Kumar, son of Chuni Lal, all residents of Jattar; and Ravinder Singh, son of Mansh Ram, a resident of Nilhat.
All the injured were initially treated at CHC Assar before being referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Doda for advanced care. Authorities have launched an investigation into the acciden.
