SSP Kishtwar Engages with Media Fraternity to Strengthen Police-Media Collaboration

Kishtwar, Nov. 22 – Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Javaid Iqbal Mir of Kishtwar District held an introductory meeting with local media representatives on Friday, emphasizing collaboration and addressing key issues related to public interest and journalism ethics.

The meeting, conducted at the District Police Office (DPO) Kishtwar, drew media personnel from various print and electronic platforms. Discussions focused on fostering cooperation between the police and media, addressing challenges faced by journalists, promoting ethical reporting, and ensuring the responsible use of social media.

“We value the role of the media as a bridge between the police and the public,” said SSP Mir. He urged journalists to provide constructive feedback on police operations, underscoring that such collaboration would enhance service delivery and improve public trust in law enforcement.

Mir also assured attendees that their concerns would be addressed on priority. He reiterated the police’s commitment to upholding the law, stating that stringent action would be taken against individuals violating legal provisions.

The dialogue highlighted the mutual goal of serving the public more effectively while maintaining a balance between press freedom and law enforcement imperatives.

Media representatives welcomed the initiative, calling for regular interactions to address ongoing challenges and improve understanding between both entities.
