MUMBAI , November 28 – Dulquer Salmaan’s latest Telugu-language crime drama, Lucky Bhaskar, is now available for streaming on Netflix. The film, which premiered on the platform today, marks its digital debut after a highly successful theatrical run.
The period crime thriller, which opened in cinemas on October 31, garnered significant attention for its nostalgic late-90s setting and strong performances. Directed by Venky Atluri, Lucky Bhaskar follows the story of Bhaskar, a bank employee who grapples with challenges in both his personal and professional life. The film’s impressive costume design and visuals, along with an engaging soundtrack, have contributed to its positive reception.
Upon its release, Lucky Bhaskar quickly became a box-office hit, grossing over Rs 80 crore nett in India. With a total collection of Rs 107 crore, the film was hailed as a critical and commercial success. The project marks Dulquer Salmaan’s third appearance in Telugu cinema, following his previous hits Mahanati (2018) and Sita Ramam (2022).
On social media, fans and critics alike have expressed enthusiasm for the film. “Ena Movie da #LuckyBashkar.. Yov #DulqerSalmaan waiting for your next movie!” commented one user on X (formerly Twitter), while another praised Atluri’s storytelling skills: “Lucky Bashkar… Wow, what a movie, must watch… I didn’t know Venky Atluri had this level of skills in storytelling!”
The movie’s success at the box office was unexpected, particularly given the genre’s niche appeal. Lucky Bhaskar features a strong cast, including Meenakshi Chaudhary, and has received widespread praise for its evocative portrayal of the late 90s.
With its digital release now on Netflix in multiple languages – including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi – Lucky Bhaskar is poised to reach an even larger audience. The film’s availability on the streaming platform signals its broadening appeal beyond the theater-going public.
Looking ahead, Dulquer Salmaan continues to build his filmography, with his next project slated to be a collaboration with actor Suriya under the direction of Sudha Kongara, best known for Soorarai Pottru. The upcoming film will also feature Vijay Varma and Nazriya Nazim Fahadh in key roles.
Lucky Bhaskar is now available for streaming on Netflix.
